We all have times in our lives when things get on top of us and we find it hard to cope. We can’t always turn to our friends and family for support. That’s where counselling comes in. It can offer a safe, confidential space for you to talk about what’s going on without fear of judgment or repercussions.

You still often hear ‘oh no I don’t need therapy’ as if it implies there must be something seriously wrong, something to be embarrassed about or ashamed of, a last resort. But I see counselling differently, for me it’s just another tool you have at your disposal to help cope with every-day life and stress. Something you can dip in and out of to suit your needs and should never be seen as something you have to do, a chore. It has to remain beneficial to you at all times.

Counselling is your chance to overcome an issue you feel is detrimental to you enjoying life and as such is one of the most positive decisions you can make for yourself. Only when you’re ready will you be able to make the change, a change for the better.
